What To Do If The Linear Guide Is Rusted
Leave a message
If the linear guide is rusted, its normal operation may be affected.
Cause of rust
Humidity and humid environment. When exposed to a humid environment for a long time, linear guides are prone to moisture, leading to rust.
Lack of protective measures. If the surface of the linear guide is not treated with anti-corrosion coating, it will be easily corroded by oxygen and water in the air, causing rust.
Improper maintenance, lack of regular cleaning and maintenance can cause dust and moisture to accumulate on the rail surface, accelerating the rust process.
Solution:
To clean the surface, use a soft brush or cloth to wipe the rail surface to remove attached dust, oil stains and other dirt. Can be cleaned with warm water and mild detergent.
Rust remover treatment. For minor rust, professional rust remover can be used. Use according to product instructions, usually requiring quick cleaning and application of protective agent after rust removal.
Lubrication protection: After cleaning and rust removal, apply a layer of suitable lubricant to reduce friction and improve the protective performance of the surface. When selecting a lubricant, pay attention to its compatibility with the guide rail material and working environment.
Anti-corrosion coating. At the appropriate time, anti-corrosion coating treatment can be considered on the surface of the guide rail. This provides additional protection against oxidation and corrosion.
Improve environmental conditions, if possible, improve storage and working conditions, reduce humidity and prevent the rails from being affected by moisture.
Regular inspection and maintenance, establish a regular inspection and maintenance system, promptly discover and deal with potential problems, and prevent the recurrence of rust problems.
