What are the differences between SBR linear guides and ordinary linear guides?
Leave a message
The core differences between SBR linear guides and Normal Straight Rail are as follows:
1.Structure and Friction Principle
SBR Linear Guide: designed with sliding friction, the slider is embedded with abrasionresistant materials (such as polymer polymers), which directly touch and slide against the polished shaft. Simple structure, no ball or drum circulation system, large rigidity.
Common Linear Guide: Mainly used for rolling friction (such as a ball or roller guide rail), it relies on a steel balls or roller to cycle and roll between the slide and the guide rail for movement. The friction coefficient is low, but the structure is complicated.
2.Performance Characteristics
SBR Linear Guide:
High impact resistance: The sliding structure enables it to withstand impact loads better and is suitable for heavy load or vibration environments.
Good anti-fouling Capability: no spherical circulation channels, not easily clogged by wood chips, metal debris, etc., low maintenance cost.
Stable Positioning Accuracy: repeat positioning error is generally controlled within ±0.02mm, satisfying the requirements of low and medium accuracy.
Oil stain and corrosion resistance: abrasion resistance material contact shaft directly, not sensitive to oil stains, cutting fluid, etc..
Common Linear Guide:
Low Friction Coefficient: the rolling friction design makes the movement smoother, suitable for high speed and light load.
Precision: High end machine repeat positioning accuracy ± 0.002mm, satisfies the precision processing requirement.
Long service life: rolling ball or drum evenly distributed load, uniform wear, theoretical service life up to 10000 hours.
3.Application Scenarios
SBR Linear Guide:
Medium and heavy conditions: such as woodworking machinery, CNC simple platforms, DIY mobile work table, etc., requires shock resistance, no blockage.
Cost-sensitive applications: Low cost, short production cycle, suitable for low precision requirements but high cost control requirements.
Harsh Environments: outdoors, damp or greasy, with a more corrosion-resistant structure.
Common Linear Guide:
High precision machining: such as CNC machines, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, etc., requires micrometer-level motion control.
High-speed motion: such as automatic equipment, robot joints, low friction design to achieve rapid response.
Clean environment: Protective devices are needed for dust and debris sensitive scenes (such as clean rooms).
4.Installation and maintenance
SBR Linear Guide:
Simple installation: simply milling or grinding the mounting surface and fixing the guide rail and slider step by step.
Maintenance Convenient: slider equipped with oil nozzle, can be lubricated directly with oil, damage can be replaced separately slider or guide rail.
Common Linear Guide:
High Installation Precision Requirements: parallel alignment is required, and some models need to scratch the installation surface to ensure accuracy.
Complex maintenance: The fairways require to be cleaned regularly, special grease needs to be replaced and maintenance cycles are short.
